5 stars. This Austrian variety has honey, citrus, alyssum flower and spice aromas. Flavours of lemon, mandarin peel, characteristic subtle white pepper and pui lentil enhance the full rounded palate. Goes with spicy foods or just by itself,very popular rare white wine.

This Central Hawke’s Bay wine is estate-grown, hand-harvested and typically partly barrel-fermented. The impressive 2019 vintage (5*) is rare – only 70 cases were produced. Bright, light lemon/green, it is highly aromatic, mouthfilling, fresh and concentrated, with slightly toasty notes adding complexity and a dry (4 grams/litre residual sugar) finish. Weighty, vigorous and lingering, it shows strong personality.
